1991-2023: Solo


  • 2023: Ousmane Touré participates with Touré Héritage show at New Morning in Paris on October 10 in tribute to Touré Kunda after Ismaïla Touré passes away on February 27. The group includes his son Modou Touré.
  • 2005: Ousmane Touré releases third solo album Avenue Du Monde, featuring songs with music composed by the musicians and lyrics by Ousmane. The group performs an album release show at Petit Journal Montparnasse in Paris.
  • 2002: Ousmane Touré issues second solo album Nenam (Ma Mère) and contributes to Gloire Des Stars / Allez, Allez!!!, both released as Senegal cassettes.
  • 2000: Ousmane Touré releases first solo album Lolo (Version Acoustic) as a Senegal cassette.
  • 1991: Ousmane Touré leaves Touré Kunda after the group’s tenth album and second live album Sounké.

Amadou Tilo (1983)

1955-1983: Beginnings To Touré Kunda


  • 1983: Ousmane Touré arrives in Paris in January and joins Touré Kunda after brother Amadou Touré collapses during a show at Chapelle des Lombards and dies on the way to the hospital. Ousmane appears on Touré Kunda’s fourth album Amadou Tilo. Ousmane was previously a physical education teacher.
  • 1977: Ousmane Touré moves to Mauritania, joins the national orchestra, and pursues a career in physical education.
  • 1957-1974: Ismaïla Touré and Sixu Tidiane Touré begin playing percussion on homemade drums at the age of 6 or 7. Later, Ousmane Touré joins them to perform stage shows with theater group La Fraternelle. Amadou Touré performs as vocalist with orchestra Esperanza Jazz, based in Ziguinchor, and eventually recruits Ismaïla and Sixu Tidiane to join. Ousmane returns from Dakar during high school and also joins the group, which tours in Senegal. Later, Ismaïla and Sixu Tidiane join Zairian orchestra Los Congaceros in The Gambia, Amadou joins the National Guard orchestra, and Ousmane attends music school in Dakar from 1972 to 1976.
  • 1955: Ousmane Touré is born 1955-11-19 in Mauritania among 25 siblings to Soninké parents Daby Touré (1875-1956) and his fourth wife Dionfolo.
